تتضمن الغناء الفردي أو الجماعي الهارموني ، و تتضمن آلات مثل الجيتار الكهربي ، و الـ باص جيتار ، و عادة إيقاع قوي من الـ درامز ،و قد تدخل آلات المفاتيح كـ البيانو و الـ أورغن ، و قد مجموعة نحاسية بآلاتها ك الترومبيت و الترومبون و مع الوقت دخل في الروك آلات و أساليب عديدة حتى أصبح يصعب تمييزه خصوصا مع دخول أشكال أخرى فيه و امتزاجها معه كموسيقى الـ بلوز و الـ كنتري و أهم ما أثر في ظهور هذه الموسيقى كانت موسيقى الروك آند رول ، التي كانت في ظريقها للزوال مع بداية الستينيات ، و تزامن مع ظهور ما سمي بـ بريتيش إنفاجن " الغزو البريطاني" كنوع موسيقي جديد ، فضلا عن بريتيش روك الذي أثر على حركة الموسيقى في الولايات المتحدة ، و تحولت إلى حالة ثقافية جديدة مكونة الواقع الثقافي الستيناتي.
انواع موسيقي الروك
روك اند رول
(بالإنجليزية: Rock and roll) نمط من العزف الموسيقي نشأ في أمريكا في الخمسينات من القرن العشرين، وسرعان ما شهد انتشارا واسعا وتطور إلى عدة فروع وأنماط يشار لها جميعا باسم (روك).
تضم موسيقا الروك عناصر من عدة أنماط للعزف الموسيقي مثل: البلوز وبوغي ووغي, الجاز ،( الريثم وبلوز) إضافة لتأثره بموسيقى الريف الأمريكي: الكانتري والويسترن.
